New England Match Longest Victory Run From Tom Brady Years with Win Over New York Jets

First-year player Henderson has recorded five scores during the current campaign

New England tied their best victory streak since the Tom Brady period as they defeated division rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the New England squad claimed an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in 2019

QB Drake Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win bolsters the Patriots lead at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the Jets bottom after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields scoring a short rushing score to cap the New York's initial series

But the New England fought back in the second quarter as Henderson scored two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone in the middle of the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"It was a big time for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep earning playing time," Maye commented on the rookie. "He desires to be outstanding."

Fields connected with John Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to close the gap for the Jets but Borregales converted a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the win
